The Cranbrook and Railway Historical Archives and Reference Library is located at the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel, and, since December of 1996, has offered a computerized index of the holdings. These include much historical material in the form of books, photographs, maps, files etc., about early Cranbrook and the Railway, including all early Cranbrook newspapers from 1898 to 1973.
The Archives and Reference Libary are open whenever the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel is open. Appointments are required due to small space and limited staff time. Phone ahead (250-489-3918) and ask for a supervisor.
