4.4 Baker Street, Downtown Cranbrook

4.4 Baker St. Downtown Cranbrook (circa 1928) looking east from Van Horne Street (now also Highway 3/95). This is still and always has been the heart of the City and represents the image of the downtown core to this day. It has the width and landscaping with some remaining architectural landmarks to make the street grand
and photogenic. Today, the Railway Water Tower, located between the highway and the railway tracks, is on the central axis of this street looking in this direction. It had been relocated to that site in 1994 as a major visual heritage landmark. CBK.1976.033.009
