6.2 A Small Plane at Cranbrook Airport

6.2 A Small Plane at Cranbrook Airport (circa 1935). Cranbrook, due to its location in the widest part of the Rocky Mountain Trench, has had an airport from the 19-teens. It was on the route of the first Trans-Canada flight in 1919. This strategic position also helped establish Cranbrook as a major Rocky Mountain airport, consolidating its primary position among other mountain communities in this part of the Province.
