  9.1 The Capture of Cranbrook Ed, one of the escaped elephants from the Sells-Floto Circus, which had come to town in August 1926. One of the elephants was last seen running down the railway tracks and succumbed to the weather. A steel sculpture of this famous elephant was installed at the west end of Baker Street beside Highway 3/95 (Van Horne St. S.) in 2009 with an explanatory panel. CBK
