9.7 Collapse of railway depot

9.7 Collapse of railway depot in 1905, while the original 2-storey structure (built in 1898) was being raised to insert a new second floor to make the building 3 floors high. Increasing railway traffic, particularly with Spokane, necessitated a larger building. The building still exists today (2010), although heavily modernized. Amazingly no one was killed, and no rail traffic was affected. The damaged roof and second floor were discarded and two new floors built. CBK.1976.033.026
