15.6 Baker Street - To the east

15.6 To east - 1970. This view shows more deterioration of the spatial definition and architecture of Baker St. with the Norbury Office Block gone (just beyond the Post Office), the old Royal Bank replaced with a modern structure, and a large Safeway Sign advertising the Cranbrook Mall that has been built across Baker St in the area of the former Courthouse. A final major change to this original street architecture will be the removal of the Post Office in 1971. The clock tower will be rebuilt 12 years later across Baker in what
will become a closed section of Cranbrook St for the creation of Clock Tower Square just in front of the new Royal Bank (shown at the far left). CBK.1976.035.008
