21.5 View to the south-east

21.5 To south-east circa 1908. This view, from the heights of Moir Park above the railway area, looks out over the expanding city towards Mt. Baker in the distance. The back of the “CPR House” is visible through the trees to the right, while the 3-storey CPR Station (post-1906) is visible about center and Baker St is at the far mid-left. The Railway-YMCA has not yet appeared which dates the photo before 1910. The hand-written dark words Burned Out – 1906 at lower right probably refers mistakenly to the town of Fernie,
when a forest fire wiped out most of the city. CBK.19890.041.001
