22.3 Early Railway Yard Panoramas

22.3 This view from the late 1920’s is also from Moir Park hill but shows substantial growth of both the railway and the city, showing much more clearing for grazing and farming on the far hillsides towards Mt. Baker. A large new railway Ice House has been built opposite the station which replaced the smaller earlier one that was located between the Station and the Freight Shed. The Railway Supervisors houses are now clearly shown, indicating even more tree removal. The “CPR House” is now gone but had been replaced
by and the CPR-YMCA (1910) at the end of Baker St at the far left of the photo. A long passenger train is parked in front of the station heading west. CBK.1993.009.003
