... to assemble a collection of documents and artifacts on Cranbrook and immediate district and to develop museum facilities to properly care for and exhibit these artifacts.

The Cranbrook museum experience is a separate component within the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel.

• The Cranbrook History Gallery (on the lower level of the historic Freight Shed adjacent to the historic model railways - admission is free)

• The Exhibition Galleries (on the upper floor of the Freight Shed) for temporary exhibitions of history and art – both locally-produced and travelling exhibits from other museums and galleries (under construction– completion is dependent on funds)

• The Galleries Café and the Railway Grill – adjacent to the Galleries at the far end of the Freight Shed opening onto the garden (under construction– completion is dependent on funds)
