CHAPTER 63.
An Act to amend the "Crow's Nest and Kootenay Lake Railway
Company Act, 1888."

WHEREAS "The Crow's Nest and Kootenay Lake Railway Company,"
hereinafter called the Company, have presented a petition praying, that
an Act may be passed to amend their charter:
And whereas it is desirable and expedient to grant the
prayer of the said petition:
Therefore, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts
as follows:—

Section 1 of the said Act is hereby amended by striking out
the words in the first line thereof, and by striking out all the words
in the second line thereof except the word "William," and substituting
in the place thereof the words " Joseph Despard Pemberton, of the City
of Victoria, Gentleman," and by striking out the words "and Edward Bray
of " in the fourth line thereof, and by striking out the words "same place,
Contractor," in the fifth line thereof.

Section 2 of the said Act is hereby amended by inserting
the words "equip, maintain" between the words "construct" and "and" in
the first line thereof.

Section 14 of the said Act is hereby amended by inserting
the words "equip, maintain" between the words "construct" and "and" in
the first line thereof, and by inserting the words "equip and maintain"
between the words "construct" and "wharves" in the third line thereof.

Section 24 of the said Act is hereby repealed, and in lieu
thereof it is hereby enacted: "That the Company shall commence the Construction
of the work on or before three years, and shall complete and equip the
same on or before five years from the passing of this Act, time being,
declared material and of the essence of the contract under which this Act
is passed."

This Act may be cited as the "Crow's Nest and Kootenay Lake
Railway Company Amendment Act, 1890."
