Omemee - Story of Another Railway Car (7 of 7)
Future work will require a heating/air conditioning system. New vents along the inner roof enters the upper stained glass windows every second one of which is left partially open. This was successfully done in the Curzon and provides a prototype solution for cars of this design. New wooden window frames will be constructed for the upper clerestory, with stained glass being added as funds permit.
A complete removal and replacement of the original varnishes on the walnut panelling will also be required to complete the look of the car a lengthy process involving both restoration and conservation. Although most original furniture survived, eight seats in the main room and three in the men's lounge will have to be re-built, and new carpeting installed. The interior will then resemble its original appearance when it travelled through Cranbrook.
